The beautiful village Rifiano (Riffian) is a small sunny holiday resort, at 504 metres above sea level, embedded in fruit orchards and vineyards on a slight slope at the beginning of the Val Passiria valley, close to Merano.

Old farmhouses, new villas and small hotels create a friendly atmosphere. The main attractions are the Baroque pilgrimage church and the Nostra Signora chapel.
Rifiano also has a small tractor museum at the restaurant Ungericht.

Idyllic paths go through vineyards and orchards, past chestnut trees and farmsteads.
Further up in the nature park Gruppo del Tessa the famous Via Alta high panoramic path crosses the area.

A few kilometres behind Rifiano the Hirzer cable car brings hikers to a sunny hiking paradise with lovely paths and hiking trails and great views.

Due to Rifiano’s vicinity to the spa town of Merano it is an ideal holiday resort for hiking in the surroundings and for visiting Merano in short time.
