Holidays in Terento in Val Pusteria
TerentoThe pretty holiday village Terento (Terenten) lies at a height of 1.210 m above sea level. It is situated on a sunny low range mountain plateau on the Pusteria street “Strada del Sole“. The beautiful parish church San Giorgio with the Holy Cross chapel is worth visiting. The church St. Catherine in Marga with its precious Gothic wing altar are also interesting to visit. Terento offers a variety of marked hiking trails, especially in the area of the refuge Refugio della Pausa. Up until not long ago, rye was cultivated on the sunny terraces, this is the reason for the excellently refurbished mills you can find in the area. A tour and object lesson could go from the mills, over the earth pyramids and the canyon of the Terento stream to the biotope ”Pichner Moos”. In a hike of about one and a half hours you can reach the witch stone in the Winnebach valley. This stone is a 300 years old cult stone with engravings, it was smashed into six large parts after Christianization. |
